Meghan Trainor Lights Up NYC's Empire State Building With 'Jingle Bells'

Meghan Trainor celebrated the holiday season in the biggest way. On the heels of her performances on this year's iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour presented by Capital One, the singer/songwriter also helped light up New York City's iconic landmark, the Empire State Building with her rendition of "Jingle Bells."

Before flipping the switch at the Empire State Building, during the exclusive iHeartRadio Holiday Pop Up Party, Trainor sat down with iHeartRadio's Crystal Rosas, and chatted about all things Christmas, and Meghan shared that her first son, Riley, is actually featured on "Jingle Bells." She recalled, "My little baby Riley, who's three now, was featured on 'Jingle Bells,' and he couldn't even speak, but we were like, 'Say Merry Christmas,' and he's like, 'Merry.' We were like, 'It'll do.' So if you listen to it, check out my little baby boy featured on the song. He's so cute."

As for Christmas traditions, in the Trainor household, the holiday starts just after Halloween. Meghan explained, "After Halloween the next day, it is Christmas. So, we decorate immediately and we leave it on as long as we possibly can, through February until it's Riley's birthday — February 8th."

This year has been a big one for Meghan as she released her album, Timeless, and went on tour. But aside from "surviving" and "slaying" her tour, one of her biggest moments of the year was seeing her youngest son, Barry, take his first steps. She shared, "Watching my one-year-old Barry take his first steps on tour and learn how to walk in St. Louis. It was great. I'm so proud of him. And now he's running and falling. He's doing great." She added, "We were like, 'We know you can do it.' He was pushing stuff all the time and running. We were like, it's in there, just do it. And then he finally did it. It was so cute."

As for her plans for 2025, Meghan wants to go home and "write, write, write," not just for herself, but for other artists too. Trainor explained, "I'm going to start writing I think and just see what happens. And I would love to do another Christmas album, someday. I love to write for other artists. I want to go home and write, write, write."
